General Questions

Q: I don't want a complex booking system, I just want something simple but still relatively secure. I don't want my users to have to signup. Can I do that?

A: Yes. When you create your account, select 'Anybody can view and book' for your security setting. In the password section, put in a password that your users will require. Email the users (or simply tell them when you see them) and they will be able to make bookings without having to signup. Of course if you wanted added security you should make yours users register.

Q: I want to setup an event that only certain people can see and book, can I do that?

A: Yes. Simply click on 'Edit Event' and set a password. Email the password to the users you want to be able to book in that event (or again, simply tell them) and only they will be able to see and book in that event.

Q: I want a system whereby everyone who can book has to register and be approved by me before I give them access. Is this possible?

A: Yes there is an option to have only members be able to see and book in your booking site. You can also require the members to be approved by you before they can login.

Q: Does it cost anything?

A: There is a free service and a paid 'Premium Service'. The main difference is on the Free Service, Booking Pad shows adverts so as to cover our cost. The Premium Service costs can be found here.

Q: Your site does most of what I want, can you just add XXXXXX?

A: Where possible we will try and accomadate your requests, however we can't always do what you require. Please contact us to see if we can meet your requirements.

Q: Do I need a server or someplace to host the website?

A: No, the your Booking Pad site is hosted on our webservers which have monitoring and redundancy built in. We are hosted on the Amazon EC2 infrastructure so you are in good hands.

Q: Is it possible to get a login so I can see how the administrator can create Booking Sheets?

A: Yes, you can visit our 'Admin Demo Play Area' here. The username is 'admin' and password is 'password'.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: There are four options:

Q: What advantage does the paid service have over the free service?

A: The paid service has the following benefits:

Q: How does the payment process work?

A: After you set up your Payments Options, we will send you an invoice via email. When you open up the invoice there will be an option to pay it online. The payment is processed through Paypal and Booking Pad never gets access to your Credit Card details. When the payment is processed we will update your account to match your settings.

Q: What if I pay my invoice late?

A: If you don't pay your invoice by the due date, your service will revert to the free service until the invoice is paid. This means ads will show on your site.

Q: If i pay my service late and you show ads, will I get a full months credit after that?

A: Yes, as soon as you pay the invoice and we process it, your time will begin. This means you will always get the full benefit of your paid service.

Q: How do I cancel my paid service?

A: Just don't pay the next invoice. As we don't keep your credit card details, we have no way to charge you. Your service will revert back to the free service when your remaining paid to time runs out.

Q: How long after I pay will my site be updated to the Premium Service?

A: It can take a couple of hours for the payments to be processed. When they are processed, your site will be updated immediately.
